spaceman spiff asked:
I am getting ready to publish a local newspaper in the San Fernando valley and would like to include a movie review, but I dont know if its legal or not. Also can I use articles from the internet, or how do I go about using them legally. When writting the review can I include a photo of the movie legally? Thank you
Fernando

of course it is. i do it all the time
You can publish it anywhere you want. As for using articles, you can quote passages from them (as long as you let readers know where it came from), but not the entire text without permission of the copyright holder. Pictures? Not without the permission of the copyright holder.
If you wrote the review, you can publish it.
To reprint existing content from other sources, you need written permission from the content owner.
As long as the material you’re publishing is original or you have permission from the creator, you can publish it. That includes any writing on the Internet.
As for photos, contact the studios’ PR departments and they’ll give you the URLs and passwords to access their publicity sites where you’ll be able to download photos for publication.
