Memento – Leonard suffers from anterograde amnesia, which he contracted from severe head trauma during the attack on his wife.

Stars Guy Pearce directed by Christopher Nolan(The Dark Knight)

Its a great film, as its shot completely in reverse order.

“Sybil” is another good movie, she suffers from split personality disorder. She was severely abused by her mother as a child. It is based on a true story as well.

I think you should try something classic, like “Suddenly, Last Summer” with Katharine Hepburn, Montgomery Clift, and Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor witnesses something horrible and is locked up in an institution. Her aunt, played by Hepburn, wants to give her a lobotomy, but Clift, who plays a doctor, tries to break through to her and finds out what caused her trauma. It’s a must-see if you like Tennessee Williams, too.
